About the Role

The Work, Stress and Health Program is seeking a full-time, temporary Occupational Therapist to provide specialized assessment and outpatient treatment for individuals with complex concurrent conditions related to workplace accidents and trauma.

Responsibilities

Provide client-centred assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation services for clients with psychological injury or substance-related difficulties resulting from workplace accidents or events.
Assess clients' skills and needs, determine treatment readiness, and develop, implement, and coordinate rehabilitation-based treatment plans.
Support clients during treatment and potential return to work.
Treat clients in individual and group settings using various psychotherapies and therapeutic approaches.
Deliver services virtually and in-person.
Support the Clinical Liaison with report review for quality assurance and assist with triage mechanisms.
Submit required reporting on time according to contractual requirements and quality standards.
Collaborate effectively with clients, WSIB representatives, clinical partners, and other stakeholders.
Participate in multidisciplinary education and training, and potentially deliver training to external organizations.
Contribute to program development and support new contracts within the Work Stress and Health program.
Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

Registered and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO).
Master's degree in Occupational Therapy (or Bachelor's degree in OT plus Master's in OT, Rehab Sciences, or related field).
Three years of experience working with individuals with serious mental illness (preferred).
Membership in either the Ontario Society of Occupational Therapy and/or Canadian Association of Occupational Therapy.
Holder of COTO’s prerequisite Professional Liability Insurance.
Clinical experience working with clients with chronic pain, addictions, and concurrent mood and anxiety disorders including PTSD/trauma (preferred).
Experience providing assessment and treatment for work-related difficulties in a third-party context, including psychotherapy in a mental health setting (asset).
Demonstrated functional assessment skills.
Demonstrated therapeutic skills with individuals and groups.
Demonstrated case management skills.
Demonstrated conflict resolution skills.
Demonstrated superior communication skills (written and oral).
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Experience working with multiple stakeholders.
Experience with research processes and standardized measures.
Familiarity with computer-based programs (Microsoft Office, electronic communication) and electronic health records.
Ability to work with clients of diverse ethno racial and cultural backgrounds.
Bilingualism (French/English) or proficiency in a second language (asset).
