About the Role
The Work, Stress and Health Program is seeking an Occupational Therapist to provide client-centered assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation services for individuals with complex concurrent conditions resulting from workplace accidents or trauma. This role involves individual and group therapy, virtual and in-person service delivery, and potential support for clinical liaison duties.
Responsibilities
- Submit required reporting on time, meeting contractual requirements and quality standards.
- Collaborate effectively with clients, contract partners (e.g., WSIB), clinical partners, and stakeholders.
- Participate in multidisciplinary education and training, and potentially deliver training to external organizations.
- Contribute to program development opportunities.
- Support new contracts within the Work Stress and Health program.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- Support a workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork, and complies with all applicable regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Registered and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO).
- Master's degree in Occupational Therapy (or Bachelor's degree in OT plus Master's in OT, Rehab Sciences, or related field).
- Preferred: Three years of experience working with individuals with serious mental illness.
- Membership in the Ontario Society of Occupational Therapy and/or Canadian Association of Occupational Therapy.
- Holder of COTO's prerequisite Professional Liability Insurance.
- Demonstrated functional assessment skills.
- Demonstrated therapeutic skills with individuals and groups.
- Demonstrated case management skills.
- Demonstrated conflict resolution skills.
- Demonstrated superior communication skills (written and oral).
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders.
- Experience with research processes and standardized measures.
- Familiarity with computer-based programs (Microsoft Office, electronic communication) and electronic health records.
- Ability to work with clients of diverse ethno racial and cultural backgrounds.
- Preference for candidates with clinical experience with chronic pain, addictions, and concurrent mood and anxiety disorders including PTSD/trauma.
- Asset: Experience providing assessment and treatment for work-related difficulties in a third-party context, including psychotherapy in a mental health setting.
- Asset: Bilingualism (French/English) or proficiency in a second language.
