About the Role
The Technician, NPI Engineering 1 will be responsible for building new Cable & Harness products under the guidance of the Engineering Group. This role requires understanding schematics, determining dimensions, and performing all required manufacturing operations. The technician will also learn to write processes while building new products to establish manufacturing production processes. Clear communication is essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Build new Cable & Harness products under the guidance of the Engineering Group.
- Understand schematics, determine dimensions, and perform all required manufacturing operations.
- Learn to write processes while building new products to establish manufacturing production processes.
- Follow verbal instructions and general manufacturing designs/drawings/diagrams.
- Recognize non-conformance or problems.
- Perform basic navigation through Customer prints, wiring diagrams, and customer-supplied documentation to build new products.
- Understand requirements, notes, and specs called out on drawings.
- Evaluate and make recommendations on process/product issues.
- Troubleshoot any problems.
- Perform required preventative maintenance with direction from engineering.
- Provide work direction and training to others as requested.
- Participate in the 5S Program.
- Adhere to established safety practices and quality system requirements.
Requirements
- Experience with building Cable Assemblies.
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
- Familiar with Computer software including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work with direction in a team environment.
- Knowledge of tools and many operations.
- Ability to take pictures with an approved camera to assist with process writing.
- Accountable for individual results.
- Receive detailed instructions on all work.
- Work within a team environment.
- Adaptable and flexible to changing demands and work schedules/assignments.
Skills
- Manufacturing experience with technical insight on specific equipment or processes.
- Computer skills and use of computer programs/software specific to the manufacturing process.
- Effective verbal and written communication.
- Intuitive Software Experience.

- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
- Blueprint Reading Course preferred
- Certifications preferred
