The Production Manager owns the execution of the production schedule and collaborates cross-functionally to resolve constraints and meet delivery commitments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and hold accountable production supervisors, team leaders, and employees while promoting a culture of safety, quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Own daily and weekly production schedule execution, including labor allocation, material readiness, production priorities, output targets, and on-time completion.
  • Proactively identify and resolve labor, material, engineering, quality, equipment, and capacity constraints that could affect production.
  • Lead daily production and tiered accountability meetings focused on safety, quality, delivery, cost, inventory, and staffing.
  • Oversee electro-mechanical manufacturing activities, including mechanical assembly, electrical panel wiring, system integration, inspection, testing, packaging, and shipment readiness.
  • Ensure products are manufactured in accordance with drawings, electrical schematics, bills of material, work instructions, quality requirements, and customer specifications.
  • Manage production performance through metrics such as schedule attainment, productivity, labor efficiency, first-pass yield, rework, scrap, overtime, and on-time delivery.
  • Lead Lean and Kaizen events using tools such as 5S, standard work, visual management, line balancing, value-stream mapping, root-cause analysis, and waste elimination.
  • Optimize production cells, staffing, equipment, material flow, floor space, and work processes to improve safety, quality, capacity, and efficiency.
  • Partner with Inventory Control and Supply Chain to ensure material availability, inventory accuracy, proper staging, and timely shortage resolution.
  • Ensure accurate and timely ERP transactions for work orders, material movements, labor reporting, production completions, and inventory adjustments.
  • Partner with Human Resources on hiring, training, performance evaluations, employee development, discipline, and termination processes.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety requirements, quality requirements and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate equipment, facility, and building-maintenance needs with internal departments and external service providers.

Requirements

  • 8 - 10 years of experience in industrial equipment, machinery, or electro-mechanical manufacturing.
  • At least 5 years of production leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical assembly, electrical panel wiring, system testing, and electro-mechanical manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, blueprints, bills of material, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Proven experience implementing Lean manufacturing principles and leading Kaizen events within Schneider Performance System, or a comparable Lean operating system.
  • Strong operations-management experience encompassing production scheduling, capacity planning, inventory control, labor management, cost control, quality, and safety.
  • Proficiency with ERP and production-planning systems, including work orders, bills of material, routings, inventory transactions, labor reporting, and scheduling.
  • Self-starter with demonstrated ownership, sound judgment, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to drive results with limited direction.
  • Strong leadership, communication, delegation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Experience working within an ISO 9001 quality-management system preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Overtime and occasional travel may be required based on production demands, customer requirements, training, project-site visits, or other business needs.
