About the Role
Texas Oncology is seeking a Data Coordinator to support the South Austin location. This role offers a collaborative environment, competitive compensation, and the chance to gain valuable oncology research experience while contributing to advancements in cancer care.
Responsibilities
- Collect, coordinate, process, and perform quality control on clinical trial data.
- Maintain research protocol and other research files.
- Work with clinical staff to meet data entry timelines and communicate data concerns.
- Ensure compliance with US Oncology Research (USOR) Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), principles of Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and applicable regulations.
- Support and adhere to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
- Extrapolate data from source records into case report forms for all patient visits and ensure timely data submission.
- Resolve queries and communicate data concerns or questions to clinical staff and/or research management.
- Utilize USOR clinical trial management system for research forms and reporting functions.
- Maintain research records confidentially according to practice policies, sponsor agreements, HIPAA, and other regulations.
- Participate in sponsor monitoring and auditing visits, ensuring data and queries are entered and resolved per requirements.
- Assist with ordering and maintaining research supplies.
- Assist with scheduling patient follow-up appointments and/or procedures for protocol compliance.
- Assist with collecting and processing specimens, imaging documents, and other research items.
Requirements
- High School Diploma required.
- Associates Degree strongly desired; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- 0-3 Years work experience (Level 1).
- Some medical office experience required; preferably oncology (Level 1).
- Minimum 3 years medical office experience (preferably oncology) (Level 2).
- Minimum 3 years as Data Coordinator required (Level 2).
- Medical office experience required, preferably in oncology (Level Sr).
- Medical terminology required (Level Sr).
- Minimum 7 years as a Data Coordinator required (Level Sr).
- Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
- Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
- Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs.
- Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
