About the Role

The Software Developer builds and maintains applications and integrations using AI-assisted development. This role involves creating AI-enabled features, automation, and decision-support capabilities to improve business outcomes. The developer will manage assigned development work, ensuring the quality, reliability, and ongoing support of applications, while staying current with AI advancements.

Responsibilities

Design, build, test, and ship business applications, integrations, and automation.
Utilize AI-assisted development tools as a core part of the daily workflow, applying best practices for prompting, task decomposition, context management, and output review.
Rigorously review AI-generated code for correctness, security, test coverage, and adherence to coding standards.
Build AI-enabled features and agent-assisted workflows into applications to advance business outcomes.
Monitor and manage the cost of AI usage in development workflows and AI-enabled features.
Work directly with business departments to understand workflows and build tools that improve operations.
Maintain and modernize the existing application portfolio, addressing technical debt, security findings, and dependency updates.
Integrate applications with core platforms (ERP, finance, identity) via APIs and data flows.
Build reporting and analytics deliverables using Power BI, Crystal Reports, and associated data flows.
Develop in .NET, C#, web technologies, and SQL Server, including designing and maintaining database schemas, queries, and stored procedures.
Apply secure development practices, including input validation, secrets management, and authentication/authorization controls.
Perform in line with established sprint commitments, quality targets, and team KPIs.
Take ownership of incidents and issues in applications, participating in on-call coverage, diagnosing issues, and communicating root causes.
Identify and propose improvements in architecture, integration patterns, and technical debt, leading approved initiatives.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline (equivalent professional experience considered).
3+ years of professional software development experience.
Hands-on experience with .NET, C#, and modern web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and a current frontend framework).
Hands-on experience with SQL Server, including writing queries, stored procedures, and designing schemas.
Experience integrating applications with third-party systems through APIs.
Experience working with version control (Git) and modern development workflows (sprints, peer code review, CI).
Hands-on experience using modern AI-assisted development tools for code generation, refactoring, debugging, and test creation, with a practice of validating AI-generated code.
Working familiarity with at least one mainstream AI coding tool (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, OpenAI Codex).
Experience supporting applications in production, including diagnosing issues and managing release coordination.
Demonstrated ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical business stakeholders.
Demonstrated experience writing secure, maintainable, and well-documented code.
Experience in aviation, aerospace, manufacturing, MRO, or other regulated operational environments (preferred).
Experience building AI-enabled features into business applications (preferred).
Experience with agentic coding tools and judgment about delegating work to agents (preferred).
Experience integrating with or supporting ERP and other operational business platforms (preferred).
Experience with reporting platforms such as Power BI or Crystal Reports (preferred).
Experience with Python or Node.js (preferred).
Familiarity with CI/CD build and release pipelines, and agile methodologies (preferred).
