About the Role
The software engineering team at Cosm develops technology for best-in-class digital and physical live streaming products. We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help architect, design, and build systems for our venues, websites, and displays. Engineers are expected to be versatile, display leadership, and embrace new challenges across the full stack.
Responsibilities
- Design and build front-end applications focusing on simplicity, maintainability, performance, and usability.
- Collaborate with product and design teams to develop effective interfaces for data management.
- Integrate front-end applications with distributed micro-service backends via RESTful and gRPC APIs.
- Automate tasks by developing and improving tools and processes for development, testing, and release management.
- Participate in architectural, design, and product sessions.
- Participate in code reviews, help set standards, and follow best practices.
- Grow the platform to support millions of concurrent users through sound architecture and design.
- Contribute to high-level strategic decisions with Engineering and Executive teams.
- Stay informed on industry trends and emerging technologies.
- Proactively explore and implement innovative solutions and technologies.
Requirements
- 4-5 years of relevant experience as a Front End Engineer.
- 2+ years of experience as a Full Stack Engineer.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- Expertise in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (ES6+).
- Expertise with modern JavaScript frameworks such as React, Vue, Angular, Next.js, or Vite.js.
- Expertise with state management libraries like Redux, Redux Toolkit, or React Context.
- Expertise with backend service development using Node.js (Typescript preferred).
- Demonstrated expertise in developing, releasing, and maintaining large-scale software applications.
- Informed opinions on design and library development, with a willingness to consider differing viewpoints.
- A drive to automate processes, test continuously, and document work.
- Ability to thrive in an open, candid, and respectful work environment.
- Expertise with backend service development utilizing Rust, Node.js (Typescript preferred), Go, Python, Java, or Ruby.
- Experience with NOSQL and SQL database systems.
- Passion for video live-streaming, sports, and entertainment.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
