About the Role
The Engineering Manager will assist in supervising all aspects of the building's equipment, including preventative maintenance and repairs. This role involves monitoring security and life safety systems, and assisting with recruitment, training, scheduling, and payroll for the Engineering team.
Responsibilities
- Lead maintenance of the building, rooms, fixtures, all property equipment, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Assist in developing and implementing plans to maintain property and equipment in good working order.
- Ensure the hotel complies with all local, state, and federal laws in coordination with the Director of Engineering.
- Conduct daily supervision of the team to ensure proper training, execution of work to brand standards, and timely resolution of issues.
- Maintain professional relationships with vendors, partners, and other departments to meet property needs.
- Ensure the shop is kept in good order, with all equipment and workspace in safe and clean condition.
- Monitor and assist in planning, scheduling, and evaluating the hotel's preventative maintenance program.
- Conduct room inspections to identify repair needs.
- Ensure all employees have the proper supplies and equipment.
- Participate in hiring decisions for the Engineering Department.
- Hold team members accountable and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Oversee the outsourced Security operation, ensuring consistent communication and follow-ups.
- Ensure overall guest satisfaction in line with Kimpton's standards.
- Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Fire Safety Director Certification required.
- 2+ years of related experience as an Engineering Supervisor at a full-service hotel.
- Prior experience with building maintenance systems and processes required, preferably in a supervisory capacity.
- Previous experience in Security, Life Safety, or Loss Prevention preferred.
- Flexible schedule, able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Able to supervise and lead yourself.
