About the Role
Nottingham Trent International College is seeking an External Examiner for Foundation Certificate, Pre-Master's for Computing, and International Year One in Computing programmes, commencing January 2027.
Responsibilities
- Participate in and endorse the outcomes of Assessment Boards.
- Ensure recommendations of the Board are consistent with programme aims, curriculum, and good HE practice.
- Review the range of grades awarded and a sample of student work.
- Assess and comment on draft examination papers, assessments, and marking schemes.
- Provide feedback on good practice and innovation impacting the student learning experience.
- Submit an annual report for each programme or module examined.
Requirements
- Knowledge and understanding of UK sector reference points for academic standards and quality assurance.
- Competence and experience in teaching and learning in Higher Education.
- Relevant academic and/or professional qualifications.
- Competence and experience in designing and operating various assessment tasks and procedures.
- Sufficient standing, credibility, and breadth of experience within the discipline.
- Fluency in English.
- Competence and experience in enhancing the student learning experience.
- Experience with the needs of international students is desirable.
- Specialist subject knowledge may be considered for candidates without prior External Examiner experience.
