About the Role
Lyft is seeking experienced backend software engineers for its claims tech engineering team. The team's vision is to reduce risk and insurance costs on the Lyft platform by centralizing claims operations onto a unified risk platform. This initiative aims to improve efficiency, consistency, and provide insights for cost reduction as Lyft expands. The team also maintains relationships with insurance partners, ensuring timely and accurate data sharing.
Responsibilities
- Write well-crafted, well-tested, readable, and maintainable code.
- Own features from product specification to successful development, deployment, and maintenance.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and distribute knowledge.
- Respond to external questions and requests.
- Unblock, support, and communicate with stakeholders to achieve results.
- Design, build, and improve a set of team-owned components.
Requirements
- 3+ years of relevant professional experience.
- Experience with object-oriented programming.
- Experience in distributed systems.
- Experience working with databases, relational or NoSQL.
- Ability to write clear, scalable design documentation.
