About the Role
Take ownership of the backend powering AI products, building APIs, data pipelines, and orchestration layers connecting products with LLMs. Solve complex problems around AI reliability, performance, scalability, and confidential data with architectural ownership.
Responsibilities
- Build APIs, data pipelines, and orchestration layers connecting products with LLMs.
- Work across retrieval, tool-calling, response streaming, and long-running background jobs.
- Solve complex problems around AI reliability, performance, scalability, and confidential data.
- Take end-to-end ownership of backend systems.
Requirements
- 7+ years building backend systems in production
- 6+ years Python
- 3+ years FastAPI
- Strong PostgreSQL / SQL
- 2+ years Redis
- Strong experience designing and building production APIs
- Experience with async / distributed systems and background processing
- Strong understanding of reliability, scalability and production performance
- Comfortable taking end-to-end ownership of backend systems
- Experience using AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor or Copilot
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving startup environment
