About the Role
RVA's Waterloo office is looking for an Engineering Designer to join their team. Responsibilities
- Assist with preparing technical reports, including feasibility studies, condition assessments, Class Environmental Assessments, design reports, and proposal preparation for municipal water and wastewater projects.
- Organize and prepare conceptual, preliminary, and final process design for projects including water treatment plants, wastewater treatment plants, water and wastewater pumping stations, reservoirs, and intakes and outfalls.
- Complete technical calculations and prepare markups of engineering drawings.
- Coordinate with other multidisciplinary engineering teams and sub-consultants, including electrical, controls and instrumentation, structural, mechanical, and architectural.
- Perform computer modeling as required (e.g., Biowin, Hydraulic modeling).
- Assist with shop drawings review and coordination.
- Participate in contract administration during construction.
- Conduct site reviews during construction, as required.
- Participate in business development activities, including involvement in and presentations to industry associations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Completion of a University degree in Environmental, Chemical, or Civil Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution with a strong interest in water/wastewater projects.
- 0-3+ years of experience in design or operation of water/wastewater systems is an asset.
- Construction site review experience is an asset.
- Demonstrates superior English communication skills, both oral and written.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop positive relationships with staff, project team members, and clients.
- Valid driver's license is required.
