About the Role
Appier is seeking a Legal & Compliance Counsel to manage corporate legal affairs. This role requires proficiency in Japanese and Chinese, with business-level English preferred. We encourage candidates with cross-disciplinary knowledge in technology, data, marketing, or business who enjoy collaborating with product and commercial teams.
Responsibilities
- Liaise with global colleagues to provide legal direction for commercial activities.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts for sales, vendors, partners, licensing, and marketing, primarily in Japanese, with occasional Mandarin Chinese and English involvement.
- Streamline corporate legal procedures and processes.
- Conduct legal research on AdTech or MarTech business impacts, owning product-facing regulatory compliance across privacy, AI, and advertising.
- Allocate work between contract review/legal operations (50%) and compliance (50%).
- Undertake other tasks or projects as directed by the Legal Manager.
Requirements
- Open-minded, ambitious, and direct communicator.
- Bachelor of Law degree (LL.B).
- Minimum 1 year of legal experience at a law firm or in-house counsel, using Japanese as a working language.
- Willingness to learn and work in the AdTech or MarTech industry, staying updated on regulations and trends.
