About the Role
Amica RESIDENCE is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to support the Maintenance Coordinator with daily operations, ensuring the cleanliness and upkeep of the facility, grounds, equipment, and suites. This role offers opportunities for professional growth and certifications.
Responsibilities
- Support the Maintenance Coordinator with completion of daily work orders.
- Repair equipment in the facility and suites.
- Perform painting and minor building touch-ups.
- Conduct daily inspections of equipment, pool, and grounds.
- Perform daily fire safety and building security checks.
Requirements
- Minimum Grade 12 education.
- Fluency in oral and written English.
- Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and carpentry repairs.
- Basic math skills.
- Basic understanding of hand tools.
- Basic understanding of computers and systems: Yardi, Word, Tels.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs of supplies and equipment.
- Ability to work in small areas and from high heights.
- Knowledge of HVAC systems.
- Familiarity with operational features of fire alarm and security systems is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of building codes and safety standards is considered an asset.
