About the Role
LCRA is seeking a Public Safety Dispatcher to join their team. This role focuses on dispatching internal resources, security monitoring, and incident notifications, distinct from typical 911 centers. The position operates on 12-hour shifts and is part-time, primarily providing floating coverage and working weekend shifts.
Responsibilities
- Dispatch Law Enforcement personnel.
- Answer radio traffic, and non-emergency and emergency phone lines.
- Monitor various security cameras and alarm systems.
- Send notifications to LCRA employees about critical incidents.
Requirements
- Ability to obtain and maintain the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) Basic Telecommunicator license.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Department of Public Safety Texas Law Enforcement Telecommunications System (TLETS) certification.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Texas Crime Information Center/National Crime Information Center (TCIC/NCIC) Full Access Operator certification.
- Two or more years of experience in the operation of currently relevant security systems and public safety dispatch/communications or other relevant experience.
- One or more years LCRA Public Safety experience.
- Current certification in Basic First Aid, CPR, and AED.
- Driver's license.
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required only for operation of Mobile Command Post.
- Must pass the CJIS fingerprint-based background investigation according to the State of Texas standards.
- Must remain current with all CJIS training requirements.
Skills
- Experience in law enforcement dispatching.
- TCOLE telecommunicator license.
