Responsibilities
- Serves as an enterprise-level subject matter expert on assigned Paychex products and services, including relevant laws, regulations, legislation, guidance, trends, and industry best practices.
- Partners with Compliance leadership and senior management to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Develops and maintains relationships with internal and external partners to communicate compliance needs and minimize compliance costs.
- Leads the management of relationships with external regulators, agencies, and vendors.
- Represents the company on industry groups and coalitions as needed.
- Collaborates with the Compliance Director and leadership teams to formulate department policies, strategic plans, and standards.
- Manages complex compliance projects and engages business partners for strategic initiatives.
- Represents Compliance on project teams as an independent decision-maker, advising on regulatory and legislative implications.
- Conducts research on complex compliance risk issues impacting Paychex products and services.
- Proactively identifies regulatory and legislative developments that may present business opportunities or challenges.
- Recommends changes to products or services based on research and analysis.
- Collaborates with business partners on long-term strategies using comprehensive knowledge of regulatory concepts.
- Provides actionable risk analysis on complex regulatory and compliance matters to internal partners.
- Prepares gap analyses and provides risk mitigation measures.
- Assesses and manages compliance implications of acquisitions, new products, product enhancements, marketing materials, and other corporate initiatives.
- Creates and reviews opportunities for continuous learning through compliance alerts, letters, webinars, training, and newsletters.
- Conducts and participates in speaking engagements and educational presentations on regulatory and legislative matters.
- Facilitates workload assignments and provides oversight and guidance for task completion.
- Performs other duties as assigned to support the general purpose of the position.
