About the Role

Join Capital One Canada's mission to change banking for good by building the next generation of the Travel portal. Your code will impact millions of Canadians by shaping innovative solutions that redefine travel planning and booking.

Responsibilities

• Spearhead Android feature development using Jetpack Compose and reactive programming to meet Capital One Travel objectives.
• Partner with Software Engineers, UX/UI designers, and Product Owners/Analysts to create high-performing customer experiences.
• Actively engage in agile ceremonies to ensure timely and high-quality delivery.
• Continuously expand expertise in mobile development technologies, particularly Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
• Lead discussions and contribute to team initiatives, incorporating stakeholder feedback.
• Mentor junior and mid-level team members in Android platform engineering and design system methodologies.
• Collaborate with developers across various disciplines to foster cross-functional learning.
• Take ownership of delivering major platform components and functionalities in alignment with architectural vision.
• Drive the adoption of best practices and process improvements within sprint teams.
• Proactively identify technical challenges and devise innovative solutions.
• Conduct thorough pull request reviews, ensuring adherence to Kotlin and Jetpack Compose idioms and providing constructive feedback.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of professional software engineering experience.
• At least 2 years of experience building native Android applications.
• At least 2 years of experience with Kotlin.
