About the Role
The Business Development Representative (BDR) drives high-quality pipeline generation through outbound-led prospecting. This role partners closely with Account Executives to target named accounts, engage key stakeholders, and create new sales opportunities, with a limited scope for inbound inquiries.
Responsibilities
- Execute targeted outbound outreach using intent data and account intelligence.
- Engage prospects through multi-channel approaches, including cold calling, email, and LinkedIn.
- Deliver highly personalized outreach by leveraging company insights, account context, and intent signals.
- Partner closely with AEs on account planning and territory strategy.
- Identify and prioritize high-potential opportunities within customer and prospect accounts.
- Develop comprehensive account profiles to support effective research and engagement.
- Respond promptly and professionally to inbound inquiries.
- Ensure high-quality initial engagement to convert interest into qualified sales opportunities.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in Salesforce and other lead management platforms.
- Expand contact coverage by identifying key personas and decision-makers using advanced research tools.
- Leverage social media platforms to prospect, network, and build relationships.
- Create and share relevant content to establish credibility and trust with target accounts.
- Monitor and analyze outreach performance metrics to continuously improve conversion rates.
- Stay informed on industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging tools to refine prospecting strategies.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in business development, sales, or a related role within the IT industry; B2B experience strongly preferred.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to uncover customer pain points and align opportunities with business needs.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment while effectively prioritizing work.
- Comfortable using CRM platforms such as Salesforce, as well as sales technologies including Salesloft and LinkedIn Sales Navigator.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Experience working effectively in cross-functional and distributed teams.
- Experience using advanced prospecting tools such as 6Sense and LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and Salesloft.
- Proven experience with social selling.
- Familiarity with qualification frameworks such as BANT, MEDDPIC, or similar.
- Demonstrated ambition with a clear interest in career progression, viewing the BDR role as a foundational step in professional growth.
- Willingness to travel occasionally (approximately once per quarter) to support events or trade shows, including on-site booth engagement.
- Must be legally permitted to work in Japan.
