About the Role

KPMG is seeking a Tax Associate to join its Global Mobility Services practice, offering an integral role within a dynamic team at a leading tax firm. The position provides opportunities for professional development through multifaceted engagements, formal training, and informal mentoring in a collaborative, future-forward culture.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage diverse skill sets to provide global tax, compensation, benefits, and HR-related services to international companies as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Serve as a direct contact for compiling and calculating compensation and benefit deductions and costs.
  • Review compensation provisions and assess applicable tax rules.
  • Support Mergers & Acquisitions due diligence work regarding employee compensation and employer benefits.
  • Participate in drafting white papers/reports on global rewards topics.
  • Work with KPMG offices globally to provide guidance and worldwide coordination for mobility tax support.
  • Collaborate with tax and human resource professionals within multinational companies to manage global workforce tax implications.
  • Participate in and contribute to external market and business activities.
  • Build capabilities in key client service delivery technologies such as AI, Alteryx, and Power BI.

Requirements

  • Must be pursuing and have obtained by the start date or have completed a JD and/or LLM in Taxation, or equivalent program from an accredited college or university within the past 12 months.
  • Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • Coursework or minor in information systems, software engineering, computer science, or data and analytics is preferred.
  • Knowledge of a broad range of corporate, employment, and international tax law.
  • Strong technical, business acumen, critical thinking, and agility skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to excel and drive strategic outcomes with a professional demeanor and collaborative leadership approach in a dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated quality service mindset, strong technical aptitude, and ability to learn and navigate technologies such as AI, Alteryx, and Power BI.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to apply emerging technologies to enhance tax processes and insights.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills.
  • Feedback-oriented and resourceful in delivering high-quality work.
  • Must reside within a reasonably commutable distance to the office and be able to travel to reasonably commutable work locations using personal vehicle or public transportation.
  • Ability to travel and/or work on-site at client premises as needed, at times with relatively short notice.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Criminal history may be considered for employment in Los Angeles County.
