About the Role

KPMG is seeking a Tax Intern to join their Global Mobility Services practice. This role offers the opportunity to become an integral part of a dynamic team at a leading tax firm, working in a collaborative, future-forward culture. You will gain experience through multifaceted engagements, formal training, and informal mentoring, contributing to innovative tax solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage diverse skill sets to provide international companies with global tax, compensation, benefits, and HR-related services as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Serve as a direct contact to compile and calculate compensation and benefit deductions and costs.
  • Review compensation provisions and assess applicable tax rules.
  • Support Mergers & Acquisitions due diligence work regarding employee compensation and employer benefits.
  • Participate in drafting white papers/reports on global rewards topics.
  • Work with KPMG offices globally to provide guidance and worldwide coordination for mobility tax support.
  • Collaborate with tax and human resource professionals within multinational companies to manage global workforce tax implications.
  • Participate in and contribute to external market and business activities.
  • Build capabilities in key technologies for client service delivery, such as AI, Alteryx, and Power BI.

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelors and/or Masters in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or equivalent program.
  • Upon completion of this internship, candidates must have additional academic credits to complete before obtaining their degree and/or CPA eligibility requirements.
  • Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • Coursework or minor in information systems, software engineering, computer science, or data and analytics preferred.
  • Strong analytical, consultative, and project management skills.
  • Ability to research and analyze tax issues, rules, and regulations and communicate results clearly.
  • Strong technical acumen, critical thinking, and agility skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to excel and drive strategic outcomes.
  • Professional demeanor and collaborative leadership approach in a dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated quality service mindset and strong technical aptitude.
  • Ability to learn and navigate technologies such as AI, Alteryx, Power BI, and MS Office Applications.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills.
  • Feedback-oriented and resourceful in delivering high-quality work.
  • Must reside within a reasonably commutable distance to the office.
  • Able to travel to reasonably commutable work locations using own means of transportation.
  • Ability to travel and/or work on-site at client premises as needed, at times with short notice.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.
