About the Role
Lead and manage the IT function across Petredec's West region (London, Monaco and Houston), ensuring network architecture, infrastructure and business-critical systems are fit for purpose, secure, and highly available. Act as the senior IT point of contact for regional stakeholders, translating business needs into technical delivery, and partner with the Group Head of IT on wider IT strategy. This role is expected to grow into a Deputy Group Head of IT position.
Responsibilities
- Design, specify and maintain network architecture across London, Monaco and Houston.
- Ensure network and business systems are reliable, resilient, and secure.
- Manage the full IT asset lifecycle, including procurement, inventory tracking, and refresh planning.
- Provide hands-on technical troubleshooting for the London office and remote support to other locations.
- Own regional governance of Aspect ETRM, Veson IMOS, and Dynamics 365 Business Central.
- Act as the senior escalation point for platform issues.
- Maintain technical fluency in key platforms to direct and support the Systems team.
- Coordinate with the Assistant Manager, IT Systems (Singapore) on regional delivery priorities.
- Manage vendor relationships for key platforms, ensuring roadmap and SLA commitments are met.
- Represent West-region business stakeholders on major platform programs.
- Contribute to maintaining and developing Group IT policies, including cyber security and data privacy.
- Periodically review and audit West-region entities for compliance with Group IT policies.
- Design, test, and maintain documented response plans for adverse scenarios.
- Support Group-wide security and compliance initiatives.
- Act as Project Manager for regional IT upgrade and transformation projects.
- Manage and control IT-related subscriptions and associated costs for the region.
- Lead the IT workstream for regional office moves and fit-outs.
- Ensure outsourced and managed services are delivered in line with agreed Service Level Agreements.
- Manage and develop the direct IT team members in London and the IT Manager – West (Monaco).
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with regional business stakeholders, building management, and facilities providers.
- Drive end-user enablement through training programmes and technical guidance.
- Understand and comply with all company policies relating to risk, compliance, and confidentiality.
- Anticipate, identify, and manage systems and risk issues, escalating as necessary.
Requirements
- Degree in Information Technology or a related discipline, supported by relevant professional certifications.
- Significant experience (8+ years) in IT infrastructure or systems leadership roles, ideally within commodity trading, energy, or shipping.
- In-depth knowledge and hands-on management experience of Wintel server environments, Microsoft technologies (Azure, Azure AD/Entra, Windows 11, MS Defender, Intune, Microsoft 365), and Cisco/Meraki networking solutions.
- Working technical fluency in Aspect ETRM (or comparable), Veson IMOS (or comparable), and Dynamics 365 Business Central (or comparable ERP).
- Demonstrable business understanding of physical trading and/or shipping of LPG, LNG, or oil products.
- Proven vendor management and commercial negotiation skills.
- Working knowledge of API integration patterns, Azure Data Factory/Logic Apps, and SQL (MSSQL) reporting concepts.
- Prior experience managing distributed or remote teams across multiple time zones and jurisdictions.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- Proactive, able to work autonomously, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- Able to operate credibly at both a hands-on technical and senior stakeholder/strategic level.
- Flexible with work hours; willing to cover IT support after hours.
- Excellent communicator, able to collaborate effectively across geographies, functions, and seniority levels.
