About the Role
Sanford Health is seeking a PRN Physical Therapist to join their team at the Good Samaritan locations in Albert Lea and Austin, MN. This role involves planning, organizing, and delivering physical therapy programs to aid clients in recovery, improve mobility, relieve pain, increase strength, and prevent deformities.
Responsibilities
- Conducts examinations, evaluations, and interventions for clients/patients/residents affected by injury or disease.
- Utilizes tools and techniques to administer physical therapy interventions following safeguards.
- Documents client's/patient's/resident's information for evaluation and establishes/modifies therapeutic plans.
- Educates clients/patients/residents and their family members about treatment plans and home exercises.
- Applies appropriate age-related treatments and evaluations.
- Incorporates current research into daily treatment.
- May treat individuals of all ages with varying diagnosis and disorders.
- Demonstrates documentation in accordance with departmental guidelines and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrates the level of treatment associated with their specialty.
- Adheres to accepted clinical practice guidelines of professional organizations.
- Exhibits flexibility with variable work schedules/assignments.
- Participates in activities to promote the department, Good Samaritan Society, and Sanford Health.
- Interacts with individuals outside of the department, including providers, case managers, and third-party payers.
- May supervise assistants, aides, and students.
- Provides ongoing education and training to peers in areas of expertise.
- Performs other related duties as requested by the manager.
- May focus on interventions in post-acute, long-term care, and home health care environments based on facility needs.
Requirements
- Must be licensed in the state(s) of practice as a Physical Therapist.
- May require a valid driver's license.
- Obtains and maintains required department-specific competencies and certifications.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers required or within the first 60 days of employment.
