About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Product Engineer to contribute to the development of Way's next generation platform. This role involves working across the technology stack to transform product concepts into high-quality, efficient, and reliable user experiences for Way's clients and their customers. You will collaborate closely with Product and Design teams to define problems, prototype solutions, make technical decisions, and manage features from inception to deployment, encompassing both new functionalities and enhancements to the existing enterprise platform.
Responsibilities
- Build customer-facing product capabilities across Way, including discovery, merchandising, booking, payments, post-booking guest journeys, and reporting.
- Integrate AI-powered functionality into the core of Way's platform.
- Collaborate with Product and Design to refine ambiguous problems, prototype solutions, and iterate on user experiences.
- Drive end-to-end feature development using React, Next.js, TypeScript, NestJS, PostgreSQL, and event-driven workflows.
- Own product domains or platform capabilities through the full lifecycle: design, implementation, testing, production release, and operational follow-through.
- Deepen understanding of critical workflows and operational risks to improve the existing platform and establish clearer boundaries and independently deployable capabilities.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in building and operating customer-facing products within a high-quality software environment, demonstrating senior or staff-level expertise.
- Strong proficiency in React and TypeScript, with production experience in browser technologies, Node.js, APIs, PostgreSQL, and serverless or managed cloud services (GCP preferred).
- Proven track record of driving complex, end-to-end features with significant customer or business impact.
- Product sensibility, with a focus on user experience, performance, and polish.
- Ability to work with minimal project management overhead, shaping problems, making explicit tradeoffs, and breaking down large goals into manageable increments.
- High-ownership mindset, demonstrating self-direction in testing, reliability, security, observability, and post-launch operations.
- Commitment to raising the engineering bar for the team.
