About the Role
The Seaway Valley Prevention Council seeks a self-directed and compassionate individual to serve as a full-time Peer Educator. This role collaborates across the agency's recovery and prevention programs, delivering evidence-based programming and supporting individuals in recovery.
Responsibilities
- Deliver evidence-based programming in local community-based settings (treatment facilities, recovery programs, criminal justice settings).
- Meet one-on-one with individuals in recovery.
- Assist with the harm reduction program.
- Facilitate the Recovery Coach Academy series.
- Assist with prevention community events.
- Provide one-time presentations in community-based organizations and local school districts.
Requirements
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Must be comfortable with public speaking.
- Must enjoy community engagement.
- Must be comfortable working with community members from all backgrounds and ages.
- Must work towards recovery and prevention credentials (CRPA, CPS) upon hire.
