About the Role
This Risk Assurance Internship offers a unique opportunity to gain experience in public accounting, focusing on IT auditing within a leading California-based firm. You will research accounting topics, develop IT auditing skills, and collaborate with clients to deliver quality products.
Responsibilities
- Research basic and intermediate accounting topics and present initial opinions to senior members.
- Develop and apply intermediate IT auditing theory and audit skepticism.
- Identify key issues and collaborate with senior team members on audit approaches.
- Contribute ideas and opinions to engagement teams.
- Collaborate with clients to deliver quality products within their timeframe.
- Perform direct auditing work on IT systems through SOX, SOC, ISO 27001, FedRamp, etc.
Requirements
- An interest in a career in public accounting.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 in a BS/BA/MSA/MST/Certificate Program in Accounting IS, Accounting, Business Administration, Cybersecurity, Finance or Economics.
- Graduating between 09/2027 – 12/2029.
- Interest in completing the CISA certification.
- Positive, enthusiastic energy.
- People skills to work with individuals in and out of the organization.
- A forward-thinking and hands-on approach.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A desire to learn.
