About the Role
Simply Salad is hiring its first dedicated Marketing Manager, a foundational role reporting directly to the CMO. This position offers significant exposure and mentorship, ideal for a marketer seeking rapid growth. The role involves expanding from social media into full-funnel marketing, including campaign planning, brand voice, product innovation, PR, digital media, and local store marketing.
Responsibilities
- Own Simply Salad's social media presence end-to-end, including content calendar, creation, posting, community management, and performance reporting.
- Shoot, edit, and produce content (photo, video, short-form) that captures Simply Salad's voice, being comfortable on and behind the camera.
- Identify, build, and manage relationships with influencers and creators, from outreach through campaign execution and ROI reporting.
- Stay ahead of platform trends and adapt content and tone accordingly.
- Work with 3rd party photographers for food and lifestyle content generation.
- Build and maintain the company-wide marketing calendar, aligning social, promotions, product launches, and local activations.
- Help define and protect Simply Salad's brand DNA and tone of voice across all channels and touchpoints.
- Partner with leadership on product innovation and menu launches, incorporating customer and market insights.
- Support public relations efforts, including media outreach, press materials, and local community partnerships.
- Assist in planning and executing digital media (paid social, email, SMS, website) with the CMO and agency partners.
- Contribute to out-of-home and other traditional media as the channel mix expands.
- Develop and roll out in-restaurant marketing materials (menus, signage, promotional collateral).
- Partner with General Managers on local store marketing, including grassroots activations, community partnerships, and new-location launch support.
- Track performance across channels and translate results into actionable recommendations.
- Apply an ROI-first mindset to all recommendations, analyzing cost, outcomes, and next steps.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in social media marketing, including content creation, content calendar management, and/or influencer marketing.
- Demonstrated ability to create content personally (shooting and editing photo/video).
- Working knowledge of social and content analytics, with the ability to connect performance data to business outcomes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an eye for brand voice and consistency.
- Curious, proactive mindset, comfortable asking questions, seeking feedback, and learning new disciplines.
- Ability to travel locally between HQ and restaurant locations across Greater Los Angeles.
- Prior experience in restaurant, food service, retail, or another fast-paced consumer brand (preferred).
- Exposure to PR, digital media/paid social, email/SMS marketing, in-store or local store marketing, or out-of-home (preferred).
- Basic comfort with ROI, CAC, or traffic-driver analysis, or a strong desire to build this skill quickly (preferred).
