About the Role

Quest Global is seeking a software engineer to estimate, plan, and implement applications using Java, Python, or Go. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders, improving existing code, troubleshooting issues, and staying updated with new technologies. The engineer will also participate in peer reviews and ensure project objectives and timelines are met.

Responsibilities

Estimate, plan, and implement applications in Java or Python or Go
Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements to build new modules or improve existing modules
Evaluate, maintain and improve existing code base to ensure that it is properly structured and utilize software engineering best practices
Troubleshoot, identify, and research reported issues, and provide recommendations by comparing advantages and disadvantages of various solutions
Stay on top of new technologies and tools, and adopt relevant ones to the team
Participate in peer reviews, learn and apply software engineering best practices to your work
Accountable for meeting assigned project objectives and timelines

Requirements

3+ years of software development experience
Strong command of at least one of Java, Python, JavaScript, or Go
Experience in backend development, Unix/Linux environments, distributed/parallel systems, information retrieval, networking, or systems/security software development
Familiarity with container technologies such as Docker and containerd
Experience with CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins or CodeDeploy
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams
