About the Role
Embark on an exhilarating summer adventure with The Cigna Group’s Technology Development Program Summer Internship. This 12-week program offers the chance to work on impactful technology projects, receive comprehensive training, and benefit from invaluable mentorship.
Responsibilities
- Contribute within the Artificial Intelligence track by building impactful technical solutions that drive innovation across The Cigna Group.
- Learn by doing alongside peers, mentors, and cross-functional partners through hands-on projects, recruiting support, innovation efforts, community initiatives, and onboarding experiences.
- Grow through a blend of core and track-specific curriculum, including technical training, leadership development, and business exposure.
- Build strong relationships across the organization through networking, mentorship, cross-functional collaboration, and informal peer engagement.
Requirements
- Must be currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field, with a strong emphasis on machine learning methodologies and applications.
- Foundational understanding of machine learning concepts, including supervised and unsupervised learning techniques, with experience applying them through coursework, projects, research, or prior experience.
- Working knowledge of Python and exposure to machine learning or generative AI libraries and frameworks such as Scikit-Learn, TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch, Hugging Face, or similar tools.
- Experience in data preprocessing, feature engineering, and data visualization using tools such as Pandas, NumPy, and Matplotlib to prepare data sets for model training.
- Exposure to model evaluation, prompt design, retrieval-augmented generation, large language models, or responsible AI practices through coursework, projects, research, or prior experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with big data technologies and platforms such as Apache Spark or Hadoop is a plus.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to translate complex data into actionable insights through machine learning applications.
- Strong communication skills to convey technical concepts and findings to nontechnical audiences and foster collaboration across teams.
- A proactive attitude toward continuous learning and staying current on machine learning and artificial intelligence technologies.
- A GPA of 3.3 or higher is preferred.
- Must be available to work a 40-hour work week beginning May 24th, 2027.
- Must be eligible for employment in the United States and not require visa sponsorship (including H-1B, CPT/OPT/STEM).
- Selected candidates will be required to complete mandatory pre-employment tasks approximately 45 days prior to the program’s start date.
- Must have internet connection through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload if working from home.
