About the Role

The Enterprise Physical Operations, Infrastructure, Capital Programs & Real Estate (EPO) department at WashU provides integrated operational, infrastructure, planning, and facility services that support the university’s mission of excellence in education, research, patient care, and community engagement. EPO manages and supports 28 million gross square feet across 235+ buildings and associated infrastructure systems. Our teams provide strategic leadership and operational expertise in facility management, infrastructure services, capital project delivery, real estate operations, planning, sustainability, engineering, maintenance, environmental services, public safety support, and enterprise operational services. EPO creates and maintains safe, innovative, efficient, mission-driven environments that support our students, faculty, staff, patients, researchers, and community partners.

Responsibilities

Inspects mechanical equipment to ensure efficient and proper operation.
Changes filters on Air Handling Units, Compressed Air Systems, Supply and Exhaust Fans as scheduled.
Adjusts and replaces belts on Air Handling Units, Compressed Air Systems, Supply and Exhaust Fans as needed.
Lubricates compressors, dampers, motors, fans, and pumps as scheduled.
Performs emergent repairs as directed by the supervisor.
Cleans HVAC coils as directed by the supervisor.
Performs Exterior Lighting Checks.
Performs Elevator Recall Testing.
Maintains accurate records of maintenance activities and reports any findings or issues to the appropriate personnel.
Keeps managers aware of facility conditions, problems, and needs.
Assists manager with ordering and tracking inventory.
Ensures outside and roof drains are kept clear of debris.
Cleans equipment and spaces as directed by supervisor.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent high school certification or combination of education and/or experience.
No specific certification/professional license is required for this position.
Skilled Trades Functions (2 Years)
A Class E (MO) or Class D (IL) license and a good driving record are required for this position.
Trade school certificate or degree in skilled trade or function.
General Maintenance Or Skilled Trade Function (3 Years)
