About the Role
KPMG is seeking an Intern to join their Economic and Valuation Services practice. This role involves providing clients with guidance on valuation matters across multiple sectors and deal stages. Professionals determine the fair value of equity shares, assets, or complex financial instruments for various purposes including mergers and acquisitions, financial reporting, tax, and regulatory standards. Engagements include Purchase Price Allocations (PPA), Impairment Testing, incentive scheme valuations, and fund valuations. Interns will assist high-profile clients in understanding, analyzing, and responding to complex business opportunities and challenges, with opportunities for career development through multifaceted engagements, formal training, and informal mentoring.
Responsibilities
- Understand how transfer pricing and tax principles and regulations impact businesses and work with KPMG member firms globally to help clients achieve their transfer pricing business goals.
- Research and analyze value chains and value drivers in various industries to evaluate transfer pricing options.
- Research and analyze transfer pricing benchmarks.
- Prepare various deliverables, including transfer pricing reports, client presentations, and client communications.
- Collaborate with team members within KPMG US and member firms globally to help clients achieve their business goals.
- Perform financial analyses and develop financial models to assess the impact of different intercompany transactions and transfer pricing policies using technologies such as Excel, AI, Alteryx, Power BI, and KPMG proprietary tools.
- Stay abreast of the latest transfer pricing and tax developments globally.
Requirements
- Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in Economics, Business, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, or another quantitative field with a focus in taxation.
- Upon completion of this internship, candidates must have additional academic credits to complete before obtaining their degree and/or CPA eligibility requirements.
- Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Coursework or minor in information systems, software engineering, computer science, or data and analytics is preferred.
- Strong technical, business acumen, critical thinking, and agility skills.
- Demonstrated ability to excel and drive strategic outcomes, coupled with a professional demeanor and a collaborative leadership approach in a dynamic, evolving environment.
- Demonstrated quality service mindset, strong technical aptitude, ability to learn and navigate technologies such as AI, Alteryx, Power BI, and MS Office Applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to apply emerging technologies to enhance tax processes and insights.
- Excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills.
- Feedback oriented and resourceful in delivering high-quality work.
- Must reside within a reasonably commutable distance to the office and be able to travel to reasonably commutable work locations using own means of transportation.
- Ability to travel and/or work on-site at client premises as needed, at times with relatively short notice.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.
