About the Role
This role is part of our founding Solutions Engineer team, serving as the first technical seller. You will own the technical pre-sales cycle for strategic customers, earning trust, proving the platform, and winning technical decisions. As the first in this role, you will define solutions architecture, write the playbook, and partner with GTM leaders to shape demos and technical evaluations.
Responsibilities
- Run the technical sales motion with AEs, including discovery, architecture, demos, whiteboard sessions, executive briefings, and security reviews.
- Integrate with prospect stacks, including identity providers, ITSM, MDM, HRIS, cloud, and SaaS applications.
- Translate technical environments and requirements into scoped use cases and success criteria for pilots.
- Act as the security and access expert, fluent in guardrails, approval workflows, least-privilege access, audit logging, and compliance.
- Execute clean handoffs to Deployment at pilot kickoff with full technical context.
- Build the foundational SA toolkit, including demo environments, reference architectures, evaluation frameworks, technical FAQs, and competitive positioning.
- Serve as the bridge between the field and product, capturing objections and feature gaps to work with engineering.
Requirements
- 3-6+ years in solutions architecture, sales engineering, or a comparable pre-sales technical role at a high-growth B2B software or infrastructure company.
- Track record of selling technical products to senior IT and security buyers.
- Hands-on credibility in front of CIOs, Heads of IT, and security leaders.
- Genuine technical depth, capable of holding your own in architecture reviews, debugging integrations, and answering security questions.
- Working fluency with the modern IT and identity stack, including IdPs, SCIM, ITSM, SaaS administration, and APIs.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills, translating complex concepts for engineers and executives.
- Builder's instinct and high ownership, energized by being first and motivated to create scalable systems.
- Experience with ITSM, IGA, access management, security, or AI automation products is a strong plus.
