About the Role
The Driver II operates company vehicles, including buses, shuttle vans, or straight trucks, ensuring efficient, safe, and timely service. This role involves transporting passengers or supplies to designated locations and providing exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities
- Complete a daily vehicle inspection form before and after driving.
- Maintain a clean and pleasant atmosphere inside and outside the vehicle.
- Utilize all available safety equipment and wear a seatbelt while driving.
- Operate company vehicles under 26,000 lb (GVW) for passenger or supply transport.
- Drive defensively, safely, and cautiously in all situations.
- Provide exceptional customer service and represent the company positively.
- Pick up and drop off guests at designated locations.
- Act as a concierge resource for guests, providing information about the property and surrounding areas.
- Lift guest luggage weighing up to 80 lb into the vehicle.
- Fuel, clean, and inspect vehicles as required.
- Identify and report maintenance and safety issues promptly.
- Ensure all vehicle logbooks, including ridership information, are completed properly.
- Coordinate with the Transportation Office dispatcher for special and group requests.
- Transport equipment to and from the warehouse as a warehouse driver.
- Perform maintenance and safety inspections on various vehicles and equipment, including oil and tire changes.
- Take vehicles to the car wash when necessary.
- Assist with clerical work, answering phones, and other office duties as assigned.
- Sell and dispense propane according to federal laws if assigned as a Dry Storage Driver.
- Operate a cash register and handle cash, traveler's checks, and credit cards accurately.
- Understand machinery and chemicals used.
- Be aware of and utilize Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
- Attend all scheduled department and safety meetings.
- Share innovative ideas to improve efficiency and operations.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures regarding safety, security, emergencies, and energy, as well as traffic laws.
Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- 1+ year of professional driving experience preferred.
- Vehicle mechanical experience preferred.
- Customer service experience preferred.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in written and spoken English.
- Must pass a DOT physical examination and obtain a medical card.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol test and participate in the random testing pool.
- Must complete and pass a Defensive Driving Course prior to driving a company vehicle.
- May require a passenger endorsement or airbrake endorsement.
- Experience driving in all weather conditions, including winter weather and tire chain installation.
- Equipment used includes: Company Vehicle, Walkie-Talkie, Hand Truck, Computer, Photocopier, Printer, Telephone.
- Little or no travel required (less than 10%).
- May involve lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking/standing.
- May require uniforms and/or Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
