About the Role
The School of Theatre & Dance seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Theatre Arts, beginning August 2027. The role involves teaching theatre management, serving as production manager, and engaging in research and creative activity related to live performance and theatrical stage/production management. We are particularly interested in candidates committed to diversity and excellence in academic programs.
Responsibilities
- Teaching, mentoring, and advising undergraduate students.
- Serving as Production Manager for the School of Theatre & Dance productions.
- Continuing an active program of creative work in one's area of specialty.
- Serving on departmental, college, and university committees.
Requirements
- M.F.A. or equivalent terminal degree in theatre or related field from an accredited program (must be completed by the first day of employment).
- Expertise and active achievement in live performance for theatrical stage/production management or similar events.
- Proven experience guiding undergraduate students through a theatrical production process.
- Demonstrated ability to work with students from historically under-represented communities and incorporate inclusion, diversity, and educational equity in teaching, scholarship, or creative works.
- Record of working and communicating effectively with colleagues and students.
