About the Role
The Trade Marketing Manager is responsible for optimizing profitable sales and category development opportunities, aligning with the divisional budget and long-term KPIs. This role involves cross-functional collaboration to develop and execute pricing strategies, maximize trade spending efficiency, and manage product, promotion, and customer mix. The position serves as a liaison between various departments including Category Management, Marketing, Sales, and Supply Chain, requiring strong leadership and influence management skills.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute national/regional strategies for pricing, trade spending, and product/promotion mix in collaboration with Sales and CS&D.
- Oversee financial forecasting and reporting of volume and net sales, including Risk & Opportunity management and net sales validation.
- Implement and collaborate on price increase strategies, tracking execution and monitoring accuracy.
- Collaborate with S&OP stakeholders to manage forecasting inaccuracies, provide supply prioritization guidance, and implement risk mitigation solutions.
- Work with Innovation and Brand Marketing teams on pipeline development, advocating for shopper and retailer insights to drive portfolio growth.
- Lead collaboration to optimize customer initiatives, agreements, and investment structures.
- Oversee budget planning, including volume building blocks, net sales consensus reviews, and submission of budgeted price increases and new contract investments.
- Support CS&D in developing key processes and tools for price and trade spend management.
- Collaborate to advance new channels of opportunity to improve mix and increase profit.
- Identify and pursue initiatives for continuous improvement and business transformation with an entrepreneurial mindset.
Requirements
- University degree or college diploma
- 7-8 years of experience, including 5 years managing sales accounts and 2 years of National account experience
- Experience with Shopper/Syndicated data (Nielsen, Numerator)
- Experience with business applications such as SAP/BW, TPM, Microsoft 365 and PowerBI
- Strong analytical, planning, and communication skills
- Strong leadership skills and strategic thinking abilities
- Ability to successfully manage multiple and competing priorities
- Strong initiative, proactive mindset, and ability to influence others
- Project management skills
- Demonstrated leadership skills, organizational agility, and ability to manage a diverse cross-functional team
- Strong technical skill set in budget planning, investment analysis, and financial reviews
- Strong decision-making ability
- Proficient with business applications such as SAP/BW, TPM, Microsoft 365 and PowerBI
- Bilingual (English and French) is an asset
