About the Role

The Technology Development Program (TECDP) – Artificial Intelligence Track is a two-year program designed for recent graduates and early-career professionals to build technical expertise and understand how technology drives transformation in healthcare. Associates will gain hands-on experience, expand their technical acumen, and collaborate to solve real-world challenges, supporting their transition from academia to industry. The AI Track focuses on leveraging AI for intelligent, human-centered solutions to improve healthcare outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute within the Artificial Intelligence track by building impactful technical solutions that drive innovation across The Cigna Group while strengthening real-world skills.
  • Learn by doing alongside peers, mentors, and cross-functional partners through hands-on projects, recruiting support, innovation efforts, community initiatives, and onboarding experiences.
  • Grow through a blend of core and track-specific curriculum, including technical training, leadership development, and business exposure.
  • Build strong relationships across the organization through networking, mentorship, cross-functional collaboration, and informal peer engagement.

Requirements

  • Must have completed a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Computer Engineering, or related field at the time of hire.
  • Additional degrees such as Math or Statistics will be considered if paired with coding experience and exposure to AI Code Generation.
  • Familiarity with languages such as Python, JavaScript, or R and experience with AI/ML frameworks.
  • Knowledge of Generative AI tools (Copilot, GitHub, Cursor, etc.).
  • Coursework, research, internships, or projects involving machine learning, large language models (LLMs), generative AI, natural language processing, computer vision, or related AI disciplines.
  • Hands-on application of AI concepts.
  • Demonstrated curiosity and enthusiasm for emerging AI technologies and their potential to reshape industries.
  • Interest in ethical AI, responsible innovation, and the intersection of AI and human-centered design.
  • Leadership or involvement in clubs, organizations, or technical competitions such as Hackathons, AI challenges, or research symposiums.
  • Preferred experience building, fine-tuning, evaluating, or deploying machine learning models, LLM-based applications, AI agents, or generative AI solutions through coursework, research, internships, or personal projects.
  • Effectively share ideas with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Build strong relationships and work well on diverse teams.
  • Analyze complex problems and create innovative solutions.
  • Understand how technology supports healthcare and connects to business goals.
  • Leverage personal and team strengths to drive results.
  • Pursue continuous learning and career development.
  • Use foundational and emerging technologies responsibly to deliver value.
  • Must be eligible for employment in the United States and not require visa sponsorship (H-1B, CPT/OPT/STEM).
  • Must be able to meet the onsite schedule for their assigned office location.
  • Completion of the drug test requires availability within the United States during the pre-employment timeframe.
  • Internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload if working from home.
