About the Role

The Cigna Group’s Technology Development Program (TECDP) Software Engineering Summer Internship offers a 12-week immersive experience where interns work on impactful technology projects, receive comprehensive training, and benefit from mentorship to advance their careers in healthcare technology.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deliver scalable applications and platforms supporting healthcare outcomes.
• Gain hands-on experience solving real-world challenges and driving innovation.
• Engage with peers, mentors, and cross-functional partners through collaborative initiatives.
• Participate in structured learning including technical training and leadership development.
• Build relationships across the organization through networking and collaboration.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
• Relevant coursework, projects, research, internships, hackathons, coding competitions, open-source contributions, or collaborative software development experience.
• Foundational proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, C#).
• Exposure to front-end, back-end, full-stack, API, database, cloud, testing, version control, or SDLC concepts.
• Familiarity with Git or another version control system.
• Interest in agile, collaborative development practices.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts, solve problems, learn new tools, and work effectively with diverse partners.
• Exposure to generative AI tools like GitHub Copilot or Cursor is preferred.
• A GPA of 3.3 or higher is preferred.
• Must be eligible for employment in the United States and not require future visa sponsorship.
• Must be available to work a 40-hour work week starting May 24th, 2027.
• Must be able to meet the onsite hybrid work schedule.
• Must be available within the United States for mandatory pre-employment tasks approximately 45 days prior to the program start date.
• Internet connection must be cable broadband or fiber optic with at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload if working from home.
