About the Role
St. Michael's Catholic Preparatory School is seeking transportation and support bus drivers to transport students to both local and out-of-town events. This is a part-time non-exempt hourly position. The position reports to the Assistant Director of Auxiliary Operations, Transportation and Asset Management and works with the other SMP drivers to ensure vehicles are safe, clean, properly prepared, and available for scheduled transportation needs.
Responsibilities
- Drive students & staff to both local and out-of-town events, including athletic events, competitions, retreats, and academic field trips.
- Complete required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and promptly report safety, mechanical, or maintenance concerns.
- Fuel buses and assist with routine vehicle preparation before scheduled trips.
- Assist with routine transportation and fleet-related tasks.
Requirements
- Must possess a valid CDL Class B with P endorsement.
- Must have at least one (1) verifiable year of experience operating a bus or comparable vehicle.
- Must be at least 25 years old for insurance purposes.
- Must be able to pass a comprehensive criminal background check (fingerprinting) and drug test.
- Ability to interact professionally and appropriately with students and staff.
