About the Role
Eversource Energy's Accounting organization seeks highly motivated students pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting for a summer intern program. This role offers an opportunity to gain experience in a fast-paced, changing industry by performing various responsibilities related to financial data preparation for regulated and non-regulated system companies.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparation of SEC, Federal Regulatory Commission and state regulatory filings
- Assist with the review and analysis of month end financial statements and reports
- Participate in the monthly accounting closing cycle including preparation of journal entries and analysis and reconciliation of accounts
- Develop corporate cost loading rates
- Assist in the research of accounting issues as identified
Requirements
- Excellent communication, judgment, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of accounting theory is required
- Proficient in the use of MS Office applications
- Strong interest and desire to learn and apply computer applications
- In the process of pursuing a Bachelor's degree in accounting
- Preference will be given to students who have finished their junior year
- Applicants requiring visa sponsorship to start employment with Eversource will not be considered
