About the Role
This role requires knowledge of CPT surgical coding and ICD10 diagnostic coding to review clinical documentation and accurately code charges for insurance billing.
Responsibilities
- Code and post-surgery charges and hospital charges for insurance billing.
- Assist with CPT and ICD 10 coding.
- Maintain open communication with Team Lead and Supervisor.
- Maintain patient information according to the established patient confidentiality policy.
- Maintain compliance with all governmental and regulatory requirements.
- Complete all mandated training and in-services in a timely manner.
- Work Accounts Receivable (AR) for assigned providers.
- Review assigned provider surgical schedules.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Graduate or equivalent.
- Minimum of three (3) years related coding or medical billing experience.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Thorough knowledge in computer information systems.
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
