About the Role
Mark43 is seeking a Manager of Revenue Accounting to oversee the revenue recognition process for SaaS and Professional Services. This individual contributor role is central to the quote-to-cash architecture, ensuring accurate financial ownership of revenue across operational systems. The ideal candidate will blend technical accounting expertise with strong business systems judgment to manage complex SaaS and Professional Services arrangements.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the revenue recognition process across SaaS and Professional Services, ensuring data integrity from Salesforce to NetSuite.
- Interpret ASC 606 and collaborate with stakeholders including Revenue Operations, Deals Desk, Professional Services, and FP&A.
- Own the technical revenue accounting framework for multi-element customer arrangements, applying ASC 606 to SaaS, Professional Services, renewals, expansions, modifications, credits, and bundled deals.
- Determine performance obligations and evaluate contracts for distinct goods and services, timing of recognition, and allocation.
- Lead the company's approach to Standalone Selling Price (SSP) and allocation methodologies.
- Oversee automated revenue recognition schedules in NetSuite Advanced Revenue Management (ARM).
- Review non-standard deals and partner with cross-functional teams to ensure clean accounting treatment before implementation.
- Support month-end and quarter-end close for revenue and deferred revenue, including reconciliations.
- Maintain documentation of revenue policies, system logic, key judgments, and control points.
- Own data integrity and reconciliation processes across Salesforce Revenue Cloud Advanced, NetSuite ARM, SuiteBilling, SuiteProjects, and Celigo integrations.
- Identify and drive fixes for gaps in system design, controls, or master data.
- Build and maintain exception reporting, reconciliation dashboards, and control checks.
- Serve as a thought partner on future-state systems design.
- Partner with FP&A to provide inputs for cash flow forecasting and revenue planning.
- Collaborate with Professional Services to ensure project delivery milestones support accurate billing and revenue recognition.
- Work with Revenue Operations to validate data creation for downstream accounting treatment.
- Translate technical accounting requirements into business systems requirements.
- Support external auditors and internal stakeholders with revenue analyses and documentation.
- Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders about system issues and their impact.
Requirements

- 6+ years of experience in technical accounting, ERP administration, or a closely related function.
- Deep technical mastery of ASC 606, especially for multi-element arrangements involving SaaS subscriptions and Professional Services.
- Strong command of SSP, allocation methodologies, and fair value allocation concepts in a recurring revenue business.
- Advanced NetSuite experience, including hands-on work with Advanced Revenue Management (ARM), SuiteBilling, and SuiteProjects.
- Experience working with Salesforce Revenue Cloud Advanced (RCA) and understanding data flow into finance systems.
- Experience owning reconciliations between source system data and accounting outcomes.
- Strong analytical skills and comfort working directly in system records, reports, and integration outputs.
- Experience partnering with FP&A to support forecasting, preferably including cash flow and revenue planning models.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to influence stakeholders.
- CPA is required.
- Experience in a high-growth B2B SaaS company is strongly preferred.
- Engage in appropriate use of the company's electronic information resources.
- Become knowledgeable about and follow relevant security policies and guidelines.
- Protect the resources under their control, such as passwords, computers, and data.
- Promptly report security-related incidents and violations.
