About the Role
Analyze Pressware plant production processes, perform experiments, and lead teams to determine optimal operating conditions, procedures, and product forming engineering. Write documentation and recommend improvements for processes and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Plan and execute on existing processes to determine best operating set points and procedures.
- Recommend and champion appropriate changes to the manufacturing process.
- Identify, plan, and implement new products and processes for business expansion or improvement.
- Use 6-Sigma statistical techniques to analyze data and design/run trials.
- Lead project and troubleshooting teams to determine root cause and corrective action solutions.
- Ensure products are made according to documented procedures.
- Manage deviations from documented procedures through the Process Document Change (PDC) and Engineering Change Notice (ECN) processes.
- Verify equipment set-ups, perform observations, and monitor manufacturing processes to detect trends and deviations.
- Interpret, apply, and implement statistical quality control and lean methods/tools on existing and new manufacturing processes.
- Identify areas for improvement and drive/implement corrective actions.
- Develop programs to improve forming productivity and maximize select rates.
- Host monthly hot end data review meetings and track follow-up action items.
- Promote safety and housekeeping improvement programs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with experience in continuous improvement.
- Experience in a continuous 24/7 process in a manufacturing environment.
- Union environment experience preferred.
- Must be able to analyze data using Excel and other software tools.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in manufacturing.
- Glass manufacturing experience preferred.
- Must be able to provide after-hours and weekend support as required, including on-call duties.
- Must be willing to collaborate with union and salary personnel to troubleshoot equipment and machinery issues.
- Must be willing to perform preventative maintenance.
