About the Role
PCL is seeking Engineering Students for their Toronto District within the Canadian Buildings Division, available for 4 or 8 months starting January 2027. Students will have the opportunity for challenging work assignments in a supportive environment that promotes personal and professional growth.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate drawings, work-specific scope/trades, and trade quote reviews, including verifying material quantities, hours, and rates.
- Participate in project meetings.
- Input and update deficiency logs and issue warranties.
- Take and coordinate progress photos and update field drawings.
- Produce as-built drawings.
- Perform quantity takeoffs, coordinate, and supervise sub-trade work.
- Verify site conditions and coordinate with drawings.
- Set up and maintain record keeping.
- Layout site lines and grades using a total station.
- Create manual schedules, update schedules using Primavera P6 EPPM software, and maintain graphical scheduling using AutoCAD.
- Obtain scheduling information from sub-trades and update project schedules.
- Monitor workforce productivity.
Requirements
- Candidates must have a strong desire to work in a construction environment.
- Prior field construction experience will be considered an asset.
- Application of various computer software programs will be required, including word processing, spreadsheet applications, and drafting.
