About the Role
Black & McDonald is seeking passionate, driven, and safety-focused recent graduates to launch their careers as Health & Safety Coordinators on their Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) team. This role offers the opportunity to learn from industry-leading safety professionals, gain hands-on experience across diverse projects, and play a key role in fostering a workplace where safety comes first.
Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of health and safety programs, policies, and procedures
- Conduct site inspections and workplace audits
- Assist with hazard assessments and risk mitigation plans
- Participate in incident investigations and corrective action tracking
- Support employee safety training and orientation programs
- Monitor compliance with provincial and federal health and safety legislation
- Maintain safety documentation, records, and reporting
- Collaborate with field leaders to identify opportunities for continuous improvement
- Promote employee engagement in safety initiatives and campaigns
Requirements
- Recent graduate (0-2 years of experience)
- Strong interest in workplace health and safety
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organization and attention to detail
- Ability to build relationships with employees at all levels
- Comfortable working in both office and field environments
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as required
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
