About the Role
KPFF San Francisco is seeking Structural Engineering Interns for Summer 2027 to contribute to real-world projects, gain practical experience, and learn from experienced engineers in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
Responsibilities
- Gain practical experience contributing to real structural engineering projects.
- Learn directly from experienced engineers invested in your success.
- Work in a multidisciplinary office environment, learning from diverse perspectives across project lifecycles.
- Take part in social events, networking opportunities, and professional development activities.
- Contribute to projects that shape our communities.
- Work on a computer for extended periods, reviewing plans and performing design analysis.
- Conduct site visits and navigate construction sites, including climbing ladders and walking on uneven terrain.
- Lift up to 15 pounds of equipment or materials.
Requirements
- Enrolled in a Bachelor’s (junior standing or higher) or Master’s program in civil or structural engineering.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage time effectively and stay organized.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Resume, cover letter, and unofficial transcripts required for application.
- Must be able to work on a computer for extended periods.
- Must be comfortable conducting site visits and navigating construction sites.
- Must be able to climb ladders and walk on uneven terrain.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.
Skills
- Structural analysis software (ETABS, SAP2000, or RISA)
- Autodesk Revit
- EIT certification or a plan to pursue certification
