About the Role

This role serves as the commercial link between the brand, creative team, and partners, aiming to secure financially sound licensing and merchandising deals that align with the company's values and vision. The position involves leading a network of agents across Europe, the Middle East, Australia, and New Zealand, with a particular focus on softlines, fashion, and Gen Z. Responsibilities include managing partnerships across various categories, overseeing all licensing aspects from deal generation to product launches, and developing go-to-market strategies and retail initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Negotiate added-value deals and support licensing strategy in markets without agents.
  • Manage agent network for other territories, focusing on growing existing deals and closing new strategic ones.
  • Implement sales strategies for brands and territories in collaboration with the Kids & Family sales department.
  • Participate in licensing trade shows.
  • Supervise retail operations to optimize licensee revenues.
  • Manage a network of licensees and secure strategic partnerships.
  • Work with management to set and monitor financial targets for categories and partners.
  • Monitor the market, analyze performance, and contribute to defining licensing strategy and partnerships.
  • Establish working relationships with other VPs Licensing to create value and foster collaboration.
  • Collaborate with creative/marketing teams on product development, providing market insights and trend analysis.
  • Assist in resolving product approval and development issues.
  • Monitor business plans, contracts, financial flows, and analyze licensee results for optimization.
  • Coordinate with financial, legal, and operational departments across territories.
  • Coordinate agents' activities with internal commercial, creative, legal, and financial departments.

Requirements

  • In-depth knowledge of the French & European licensing environment, main partners, and distribution networks (minimum two years).
  • Multicultural interpersonal skills, curiosity, and team spirit.
  • Agility in creating smooth information flows.
  • Ability to see the big picture and connect product categories, retailers, and consumers.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Persuasive entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Keen eye for detail.
  • Financial (P&L management) and legal awareness.
  • Global understanding of contracts and financial issues.
  • Regular travel and availability for European, French, and international trade fairs.
