About the Role
Latigo Biotherapeutics is seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant with strong general accounting experience to support the Company’s growing accounting function.
Responsibilities
- Manage general accounting areas such as R&D and CMC accruals and other liabilities.
- Support financial reporting activities, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policies.
- Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, roll forwards, supporting schedules, and flux analyses.
- Collaborate with other functions to obtain inputs for monthly accrual determination.
- Analyze financial results, account activity, and balance sheet reconciliations, identifying and resolving accounting issues.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor requests.
- Assist in drafting and maintaining accounting policies and SOPs.
- Implement process improvements using AI, automation, and process simplification to enhance financial reporting, controls, efficiency, and compliance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, general ledger accounting, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and internal controls.
- CPA preferred.
- Biotechnology, life sciences, CMC or R&D accrual experience preferred.
- Experience supporting system implementations, workflow automation, data validation, or AI-enabled tools is a plus.
- Experience with NetSuite required.
- Experience with Prendio, Coupa and Expensify is beneficial.
- Strong Excel, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
