About the Role
Nova Scotia Health is seeking a Family Physician for Locum coverage at the Northside Collaborative Clinic from March 8th, 2027, to March 12th, 2027. This role involves delivering comprehensive primary health care services and collaborating with other providers in a supportive, team-based environment.
Responsibilities
- Delivery of comprehensive primary health care services to patients of all ages and stages of health or illness.
- Work with other providers in the clinic to provide cross coverage and same-day access.
- Utilize an electronic medical record (EMR) and record all relevant patient details in a provincially approved EMR which is accessible to all collaborating team members.
Requirements
- Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS).
- Eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC).
- Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA).

Salary/Compensations
- Guaranteed daily minimum income of $1,200 for family physicians ($600 or half-day).
- Additional shadow billings if above amount is exceeded.
- Accommodations up to $300 per night.
- Travel expenses (including air fare up to $1,500).
- Travel time up to 10 hours per week.
- Licensing fees for College of Physicians and Surgeons (CPSNS).
