About the Role
Floor & Decor Designers provide a seamless start-to-finish consultative design service that builds lasting relationships and brand loyalty with customers. Designers meet with customers, understand their project needs, educate them on project requirements, and build creative design concepts incorporating personal style, lifestyle, and budget.
Responsibilities
- Greet store customers in a helpful manner and support store design walk-in needs.
- Schedule design appointments for existing and potential customers, developing clientele through networking, referrals, and in-store leads.
- Provide tile, wood, stone, and accessories advice to homeowners, interior designers, and builders for residential and commercial projects.
- Design and sell complete, functional, and aesthetically appealing solutions.
- Manage multiple, simultaneous customer projects through all phases with accuracy, timeliness, and follow-up, including consistent communication.
- Collaborate, partner, and communicate with store leadership and employees to manage projects from inquiry to installation and achieve sales goals.
- Enthusiastically support company initiatives and goals by modeling and coaching best practices with store employees.
- Engage in current and emerging design trends in the market.
- Utilize design applications such as Salesforce, Online Design Appointment Scheduler, and MyProject.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of one (1) year of interior design experience or prior retail/sales experience.
- Proficient in basic mathematical skills.
- Must be self-motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suite.
- Internal candidates must have 12 months of experience in a design consultant position.
Skills
- Knowledge of hard surface flooring is a plus.
- Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suite.
