About the Role
Actively contribute to a DAX company anticipating regulatory developments, formulating political positions, and keeping management informed about market dynamics through targeted political lobbying at the national level.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and prepare background information on current national political developments, identifying key political actors and stakeholders.
- Create high-quality briefing documents, concise assessments, and policy fact sheets for management on capital market-related issues such as financial market stability, capital markets union, and sustainable finance.
- Prepare policy recommendations and analyze regulatory projects within the German and European legislative processes (e.g., MiFID, EMIR, pension provision, location promotion laws).
- Manage and maintain the contact network with the German political landscape, prepare discussion frameworks, and support stakeholder management at the ministerial and parliamentary levels.
- Research and validate positions and key figures on capital market policy issues, continuously monitoring developments that pose opportunities and risks for financial market infrastructure.
- Support the development and implementation of communication strategies, as well as the organization of events and office tasks.
Requirements
- Completed university degree in economics, law, or social sciences with an interest in strategic issues related to capital markets, state institutions, and legislative processes in Germany and Europe.
- Practical experience in a large, international company, a consulting firm, or in the policy/political field; experience in the financial industry or capital markets is a plus.
- Solid understanding of financial market infrastructure and involved financial institutions, ideally with an existing, robust network of national-level actors.
- Structured work approach and strong analytical skills enabling quick adaptation to complex, new topics independently, reliably, and meticulously.
- Fluent spoken and written German and English skills.
- Good knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint).
- High affinity for AI tools and digital working methods.
