Responsibilities
- Meal preparation
- Companionship
- Medication reminders
- Light housekeeping
- Follow client care plans and provide updates as needed
- Fall-risk oversight
- Taking clients to appointments, food shopping, and errands as needed
- Uphold the standards of Age-Friendly Care at Home (AFCH) certification by delivering personalized, respectful care that aligns with the 4Ms framework — What Matters, Medication, Mentation, and Mobility — and adhering to all Senior Helpers and APFM policies and best practices
- Have fun and engaging conversations with your clients to build relationships
- Participate in your clients’ favorite hobbies, including scrapbooking, gardening, games, and more
- Prepare meals for your clients to enjoy
- Assist your clients with walking, dressing, and other activities of daily living
- Report what activities were completed with your clients and provide updates on your clients’ physical condition, mental capacity, and behavior
Requirements
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Reliable vehicle with up-to-date insurance
- Experience working with seniors
- Bring your driver’s license, proof of auto insurance, and any applicable caregiver/HHA/PCA credentials
